ADDENDUM: Georgia set itself apart from the rest of the nation by defeating more incumbents than any other state in the 2012 General Primary. 11 incumbents will not be returning, 2 of the 11 were supported by us and was narrowly defeated (Doug McKillip lost by 62 votes out of 7310). Of the 17 targeted House members 12 ran unopposed. (We just didn't have enough time to recruit candidates to oppose them. That will not be the case in two years.) Two announced their retirement. In those races which were contested we won two out of three, defeating the richest Republican in the legislature. All were tenured Chairmen.
PeachTEA Party PAC joined Georgia Right to Life PAC in targeting two incumbent Senators whose position on Life has been questionable for years, and defeated Sen Johnny Grant. The other one, Sen. Cecil Staton, only narrowly missed defeat by 204 votes out of over 20,000. Sen. Greg Goggans announced retirement rather than face a challenge.
In addition the PeachTEA PAC opposed Transportation Tax was overwhelmingly defeated, despite an $8 million dollar campaign and the full support of the Republican leadership.
The Personhood Amendment WON with a Super Majority (66%).
